Thuisbasis Los Angeles en de rijke jazzscene aldaar vormen de basis van Mothership, het nieuwe album van jazz-zanger Dwight Trible. Het is tegelijk het logische als geweldige vervolg op zijn (terecht) volop geprezen album Inspirations dat Trible twee jaar geleden met Manchester trompettist Matthew Halsall en diens Gondwana Orchestra uitbracht. Dat Dwight een intense jazz-zanger met een groot soulhart is, bewees Inspirations weer eens optimaal. Het was een bloedmooi album in de perfecte muzikale omgeving tot stand gekomen en met een gloedvolle sound. Halsall & The Gondwana Orchestra gaven Trible exact de juiste spirituele basis om vocaal steeds volledig emotievol raak te schieten. Inspirations was daarmee een van de jazzhoogtepunten...
